TPS54061: Input volatge with 50Hz 12Vmin/38Vmax

Used circuitry TPS54061 output by webench tool. The input voltage for this design is from a half-wave recifiere and the min/max differ strong. @150mA/3.3V output the max input voltage is 38V, the min voltage is 12V -> input voltage looks like as 50Hz saw tooth voltage. Does this usage makes problems? The application is with 868MHz wirless transmitter so EMI might be critical. I will add also an output filter.

Hello Thomas,

The device should be able to handle this type of line transient and operate under such conditions. It is suggested to verify device performance under above described conditions as well as apply proper input/output filtering.

thanks for your replay and good to hear that this will work. Regarding the input/output filtering is there any possibility for help from your side. On output side I will put 22µF - 100H wirewound - 22µF filter ok? What is your suggestion on input side?

With RF 868MHz on same board filtering of power supply is important to reduce noise.

Hello Thomas,

As far as input filter design is concerned, especially in regard to EMI performance, you will need to design filter that will meet specified requirements for specific application and frequency range of interest. Here is link to the application note that could be used as good starting point
