BQ34Z100-G1: NiMH data memory parameter

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

I am using the bq34z100-G1 with 4S NiMH Eneloop AA cells.

End-of-charge detection shall be delta Volt (no delta Temp !!)

The bq34z100-G1 does not detect the negative falling ramp when the accus are fully charged with the default values in ChemId 9103.

What are the recommended values to detect EOC for the data memory contents:

- NiMH Cell Negative Delta Volt

- NiMH Cell Negative Delta Time

- NiMH Cell Negative Delta Qual Volt

-- CC Threshold

--Cycle Delta (each discharge event > "CC Threshold" shall increment the cycle counter)

- Cell Charge Voltage Tx-Ty

  • Reinhard,

You can log the charge data and set the NiMH Cell Negative Delta Volt and NiMH Cell Negative Delta Time based on how the cells respond at charge termination. The default value for the NiMH Cell Negative Delta Qual Volt is normally ok, but you can set it per your cell as well. Users typically set the CC Threshold to about 90% of FCC. People typically leave the Cycle Delta and Cell Charge Voltage Tx-Ty parameters at their default values.
