TPS7A49: TPS7A4901 and TPS7A3001 tracking regulator design help needed

Part Number: TPS7A49
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM317, LM337, NE5534, TLE2141

hi, my name is  doni. i have trouble designing tracking regulator for LM317 and LM337. i found an article  about TPS7A4901 and TPS7A3001 as a tracking regulator. my question is

1. can i use LM317 and LM337 instead TPS7A4901 and TPS7A3001?

2. can i use NE5534 instead TLE2141?

3. for the Vin-positive and VIn-negative of the opamp can it be connected at the output of the regulator instead connected at the Vin-positive and Vin-negative of the raw supply?

sorry for the bad grammar...

this is the link.

thank you so much for the help...

regards

  • Hi Doni,

  • Hi Doni,

The concepts shown in the article can be applied to applications with different LDOs and op-amps so long as the LDOs have an external feedback pin. Some modifications may be required to the resistor and capacitor values to fit your application requirements as well as the substitute device requirements.

The op-amp rails should be tied to the input of the LDOs or other established rails at the time that the LDO output begins to rise. Otherwise you would not have any headroom between the positive and negative rails.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
