TLC59581: Is VSYNC required at end of GCLK frame?

Part Number: TLC59581

If I do not send in a VSYNC after the end of a GCLK frame (say 256 sub-periods times 14 scan-lines times 257 GCLK cycles), will the GS counter wrap and keep displaying the same memory bank indefinitely as long as GCLK is supplied? This would happen in my design with partial-update for the screen.

Thanks,

Stan

  • Hi, Stan,

Vsync is the vertical frame synchronization command. When the period of one frame ends, input this
command to exchange the usage of the two memory BANKs, then the new image in the other BANK is
displayed in the coming frame period.

If you don't send in a Vsync, it will display the same information.

    Regards,
    Kenneth
