SM72442: SM72442

Part Number: SM72442

Dear Sirs,

I am trying to understanding this AN (www.ti.com/.../snosb76c.pdf) where the SM72442 is controlled by a mcu.

I found a contradiction at pag.7 and pag.19.

Pag 7, figure 9 the document states that the bootstrap circuit have to be connected to HIB and HIA.

Pag19, figure 20 in the schematic I can see the signals HIA and LIB connected to the bootstrap circuit.

Which one is the correct?

Regards,

Paolo

  • I believe you are referring to the Boost start-up circuitry (not bootstrap) and Figure 9 should be the main buck switch and main boost switch which correlates to HIA (Q1 switch or high-side buck PWM output) and LIB not HIB (Q4 switch or low-side boost PWM output). The schematic figure 20 on pg 19 has it correct.
