TPS65001 feedback capacitor needed or not?

Hey there,

the datasheet of the TPS65001 has a feedback capacitor C_F of 22pF across R_DC1. However, in the TPS65001 user guide this capacitor is omitted (C9 of SLVU357). Can you explain when this needs to be fitted and why it wasn't in this case?

Per the datasheet (page 20), the capacitor is required for optimum transient response. We recommend using the capacitor for the best performance. In this user's guide, http://focus.ti.com/lit/ug/slvu320/slvu320.pdf, the capacitor is used. It is not used in the user's guide that you found, as the high side feedback resistor is 0 Ohms.
