LM5175: Buck Boost Converter / Controller - 5A Output Current, Vin = 2.8 - 5V, Vout = 3.6V

Part Number: LM5175

Hi There,

I am looking to design a buck-boost that takes a 2.8 - 5V input and generates a regulated 3.6V output. The output load requirement is max 5A. It looks like the appropriate topologies for a non-inverting supply are 2-switch, 4-switch and SEPIC. SEPIC would require ~12A switch current for a 5A output which is quite high. Would you have any recommendations on how to realise this design? It looks like 2-switch or for higher efficiency 4-switch would be the way to go but it would be great to get some feedback from the experts!

Many Thanks in advance,

Dave
