Hi,

I want to konw what is the ILOAD in the reference design used for? Can I just remove it from the circuit?

Hi,

ILOAD is used to set the load conditions of the reference. It is meant to simulate whatever the reference is driving. It can be removed, however, in that case Iout would be equal to 0mA.

Hi,

Thanks for your responding, that really helps. And another question is whether it is necessary to add the op amp at the output of the REF5050 as a buffer or connect the output to the ADS1262 as reference directly?

Hi,

The external Op-Amp is not necessary, however, having an external Op-Amp will usually give you a better performance due to possible loading errors. Here is a capture from the ADS1262 datasheet:

We also offer the REF6xxx family which has integrated buffers.
