TLC59116: leakage, i2c

Hi~

On testing TLC59116 EVM, leakage looks higher than specsheet.

On spec sheet, SCL, SDA max lekage is 0.3uA, but when test EVM, it looks larger than this.

TLC59116-390 standby current@5V is 37.826mA, but when remove I2C pull up resistor(R1, R2), supply current reduced 37.302mA, so three I2C leakage is around 500uA(each has about 170uA).

Is this expected result? or can we reduce leakage on I2C or any other parts on TLC59116 circuit?

Hi Jin-Suk,

Could you please let me know the EVM test conditions, and how did you test the standby current? The large value you got should related with the test method.

Hi~ Jason.

I supplied 5V at TLC59116EVM-390 and checked input current. Reset was low and input current was 37.876mA. When removed I2C pull up resistor, input current reduced to 37.302mA so I2C leakage would be 524uA for 3 TLC59116. It's quite larger than specsheet.
Let me have your opinion.

Hi Jin-Suk,

how much standby current is needed in your application?

the measure method you used is to test the ICC, supply current. for the SCL, SDA leakage current test: applied VCC voltage at these pins and measure the leakage current.
