LP5922: Getting SS to be shorter than 1mSec

Part Number: LP5922
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A8300, TPS7A91

In the data sheet, the minimal recommended capacitor for SS is 100nF, which translates to about 8mSec startup time.

I need to get less than 1mSec startup, and it looks from the block diagram that using lower capacitance values ~10nF shouldn't be a problem,

apart from the fact that the startup time calculation will not be as precise..... Is that OK? If not - what is the lowest possible value of SS cap I can use?

Thanks!

  • Hi Lior,

The device was designed and characterized within the recommended conditions. For Css/nr, the minimum recommended capacitor value is 100nF. As such, performance is only specified for Css/nr values of 100nF or larger.

    For a ~1ms startup, consider using TPS7A8300 or TPS7A91.

    Regards,
