Hello,

For 17S/24AH, the full charge voltage should be 17*4.2V=71.4v>65.535v, the design capacity=24000mAH<32767,the design energy=17*3.7*24000=1509600mWh.So,voltage and energy is out of range.Please help me to see whether my parameter is right.

1.serial number=17, VOLSET=1, than I calibrate vlotage to 4.2V when I apply 71.2V. Is this right?

2.Then, the design energy= 17s*3.7V*24000mah? Or,the design energy= 1s*3.7V*24000mah? which is correct?

3. Can I set "Design Scale" to any number of 1~10? For example 6, then design energy= 3.7V*24000mAh/6 =14800mwh <32767.

The max value of Design Energy is 32767 mWh, for a 24000mAh battery, 24000*3.7>32767, it has exceed the limit value

So , if I set Design Scale to 6, the design energy= 3.7V*24000mAh/6 =14800mwh <32767.

Hello Zehua,

Please refer to this application note for bq34z100-G1 High Cell Count and High Capacity Applications. Your calculation of full charge voltage and design energy is correct. You will have to use design energy scale of 10 and in cWh.

If you use VOLTSEL = 1 the external divider must divide the PACK voltage down to 1V (>72x divider). If you use VOLTSEL = 0 the external divider must divide the PACK voltage down to 5V (>14.4x divider)
Design Energy = 17*3.7V*24000mAh
Yes you can set design energy scale 1 to 10.
