BQ24072: Disabling the Dynamic charge Timers

Hello, 

What can happen if the safety timers are disabled.I read in the datasheet that these timers are used to prevent potential damage to the battery and the system, what does it mean by potential damage ? explosion? or simply battery life decrease ?

Can anyone give me more information about the damage that can happen in the system and the battery.

    Hello

    A typical condition is that, your battery is self discharging, the discharge current is equal to termination current. if no safety timer, charge process will always keep. Self discharge phenomenon may because of partial short in internal battery, so keep charge process could result in greater damage.
