UCC28019AEVM: Gate drive waveform seems abnormal

Hello,

My customer tested the gave drive waveform on UCC28019A EVM and results are shown as below. The test condition is 110V input, 200W loading. They measured the waveform using oscilloscope's prob. The ringing seems quiet large. Is this a normal gate drive waveform?

    Hello Victor,

    That waveform looks like a measurement error. Most likely switching noise is being picked up in the ground lead of the scope probe. To accurately view the gate drive you need to place the probe directly across the gate-source resistor (R6 in the schematic) and use a very short ground connection.
    Also the user guide shows the expected gate drive waveforms and they do not have this high frequency ringing at turn-on.
