what is the uses of I2C connection in BQ24296 i want to make battery charger using micro controller.

    Hey jignesh,

    The I2C connection on the bq24296 allows the Host control many different settings of the charger as well as monitor different fault conditions and input conditions of the charger.

    Some examples of this are setting the charge current into the battery, the input current limit, shutting of the path between the charger and the battery, disconnecting the input source, monitoring for over voltage spikes, battery temperature, enable the OTG boost mode, and many other features.

    I recommend you look at the registers on the bq24296 datasheet and their associated bit descriptions to get a better understanding of the control and monitoring features of the I2C host mode.
