TPS61232: circuit not boosting input or responding to enable input.

I have created a very small circuit to test out the TPS61232 and am having issues. I based my design on the reference design from the datasheet except for attaching the 'EN' pin to an input. When the circuit is connected it is giving a 3.92V output on a 4.2V input. This doesn't change if I directly ground the EN pin or bring it to Vin.

Your schematic shows pin 10 twice, once for VIN and once tied to GND.

That label denotes there are 10 contacts linked to that signal, not that it's connected to pin 10.

does this circuit operating well and output 5V? could you also share the layout?

The circuit is not outputting correctly and is not responding to the enable input. Here is the board layout from oshpark:

the layout is bad. you should modify your EVM based on the TPS61232EVM and the datasheet.
but i think you should be able to observe the 5V at VOUT in no load condition if the device is not damaged. could you refer to my blog to debug the circuit? "e2e.ti.com/.../tips-in-debugging-a-boost-converter".

I had a feeling that might be the case, I'll attempt to debug the circuit and see if I can find the issue.

Hi Benjamin,

since I have the same issue with the TPS61232, I am interested in your solution. Did a better layout fix the problem or did you solve it in another way?

The improved layout didn't help unfortunately, not sure what I was doing wrong but I ended up going in a different direction.
