Searching: LED Driver with analog dimming and three output channels

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92515

I’m searching a LED Driver but I can’t find the right one for my application.

I have made two LED rings for a CNC machine. Every ring has 12 white LEDs.

Ring one has 12 white LEDs from 3V / 20mA and in three strings with three LEDs.
Ring two has 12 white LEDs from 3V / 180mA and in three strings with three LEDs.

Every LED ring will get his own LED Driver

I need a LED Driver with one analog dimming function . (to prevent flickering)

Please can you help to find the right LED Driver for this purpose?

Thanks and kind regards,

Frank

  • Hello Frank,

    Could you provide a little more information please? It would help to have:

    -Input voltage range

    -Actual total Vf and current of each string (it is not clear to me above)

    That will determine the topology and whether or not we have a good solution that could fit.

    Thanks,

    Clint

  • Hi Clint,

    Thanks for your answer.

    I have only 12 volt or lower to this point where to install this LED rings.

    The LED rings have this LED configuration:
    LED1 -> LED2 -> LED3 (string 1) total 9V / 20mA or 180mA (can be 150mA)
    LED4 -> LED5 -> LED6 (string 2) total 9V / 20mA or 180mA (can be 150mA)
    LED7 -> LED8 -> LED9 (string 3) total 9V / 20mA or 180mA (can be 150mA)

    I have this LEDs:
    Farnell number: 2470223
    Farnell number: 2470238

    I hope this is the information what you need.

    Thanks,

    Frank

  • Hello Frank,

    Most of the devices I deal with might be a bit overkill and none are multi-channel. But you could use 3 separate buck converters with analog dimming such as the TPS92515. However, I will forward this on to a different group that has multi-channel drivers and hopefully they can provide a better suggestion.

    Regards,

    Clint
