Offline AC to DC Battery Charger

Hi,

We have requirement for lithium battery charger( offline AC-DC ) as below ,

Input AC : 185 ~265 Vac , 4.5A max, 50/60 Hz

Output DC : 52 ~ 72 Vdc , 4A

Please let us know if any suitable solution available with you

  • Atul,

What are your detailed requirements, restrictions, etc?

At this power level, I assume you need PFC? What output ripple spec is required? Is a single-stage PFC Flyback a possibility? Or do you need 2-stage, PFC + isolation? Is the battery-charging controlled downstream, or does the AC-DC also need to regulate the charging current?

What are the key specs? Eff? Standby power? Size?

You can browse available TI reference designs here:
    www.ti.com/.../refdesignsearchresults.tsp

Click on the "Search power designs by parameters" tab, then you can enter required input voltage, output voltage, current, select AC or DC input, Isolated or non-isolated, etc. This allows you to narrow the available choices, and browse the designs to find something of interest.

You may not find an exact match to your spec, but you can see if anythign coould be a good starting poi8nt for you. Or you may be able to combine 2 designs to meet your spec, e.g. a 300-W PFC front-end could be combined with a 300-W isolation stage.

    Thanks,
    Bernard
