BQ28Z610: TRM clarification and time required between command and response

Part Number: BQ28Z610

In SLUUA65B–April 2014–Revised May 2016 the TRM for the BQ28Z610 the last sentence in the paragraph at the top of section 12.1 Standard Data Commands

is "Data RAM is updated and read by the gauge once per second."  Does this mean that the part updates its data ram with new readings once per second?

If that is not what it means please elucidate.

There is a blog post that indicates that a minimum of 100us is required between sending a command and reading data from the part.

Is this the minimum time required for the part to wake up, process the command, and begin returning the data?

Is there a maximum time required for this to occur?

Thanks.

  • Does this mean that the part updates its data ram with new readings once per second? Yes, the gauge only does updates once per second.

The 100uS is to ensure the integrity of the data received otherwise you could read erroneous values. I believe the minimum time is 66uS. I don't believe a max time has been defined.

    thanks
