WEBENCH® Tools/TPS54627: temperature simulation for output 6~9A

Hi,

Our customer want to know that TPS54627 temperature before OCP trigger, but webbench tool only support to fill out current to maximum 6A.

Have any way to simulation for output 6/7/8/9A condition?

Hi,

Below is the Vin/Vout and Iout condition.

Vin: 12V
Vout: 1.0V
Iout: 6/7/8/9A
Ambient temp (if you have): 25, 55 degC.

Hi,

You can export the TINA transient model. And simulate the model in TINA software with large load current.

Hi Luke,

I have already download TINA-TI tool, and also import webench file to TINA-TI.
But how to change the output current and using temperature simulation?

Jeff, oh my bad, I thought they just want to see the electrical behavior with large load. TINA can not be used to do thermal simulation. I don't think we have tools to do such simulation. Best way is to apply an EVM to evaluate practically.

oh...Got it, so it have no chance to raise up webench output current to 6A up?
I will tell my customer this information.

Yes, please follow Luke's comment.

Please ask customer to evluate the case based on EVM or customer's board design.

WEBENCH Power Designer performs a series of design checks to disallow customers from creating designs that violate published and recommended device limits. For this reason, we don't allow users to force a TPS54627 design output current beyond 6A.
