Standby current measurement by bq27500 v130.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27500

Hi

When the system is in standby it draws only 0.5mAh from the battery.

This current is to small for the bq27500 v130 to measure so it has to be calculated by the fuel gauge.

This is not the case, when I use a configured .DFI file.

Dos it help to finish the cycling and the golden .DFI file?

Or is there any other parameter I can focus on?

Best regards

Emil

  • Emil,

After you perform a learning cycle and ImpedanceTrack is enabled, the gauge automatically incorporates the small current draw in standby mode when it accounts for battery self-discharge.

In addition, the battery periodically measures the OCV of the battery during this relaxed period which gives it a good measurement of state-of-charge.  In order to ensure accuracy in this method, make sure you go through the chemistry selection routines in bqEASY and perform a learning cycle.  Unless you obtain a golden image, the gauge will not be very accurate.

    Thanks,

    Charles
