BQ24650: Can BQ24650 could be used to Charge 14.8V 10Ah Lipo Battery?

Hi,

I have few questions about BQ24650.

I read datasheet of BQ24650 it support Lipo batteries and MPPT algorithm. I have 14.8V 4S 30C battery and I would like to charge it with Solar Panel of 40W to 80W. Can I use BQ24650 for this purpose.I understand that I have to change Resistors to set MPPT Voltage and Charge current.

What could be the Max charging voltage and current to charge 14.8V LiPo Battery?

BQ24650 supports balanced charging? is it ok if I am not using balanced charging?

Hi Kumar,

Typically the max charge voltage of 4S Li poly battery is 16.8V. But you need to check the datasheet of the battery.
No. Generally, the protector for the battery can do balancing.
