But it isn't the graph I want.

I'd like to know Current limit characteristics of UA78M05.

In datasheet Current Limit is described as follows, peak output current is 0.7A and short-circuit output current is 300mA.

So I think that UA78M05 is Foldback current limit. Is it correct?

Is UA78M05 the same Current Limit characteristics as LM78M05?

Hi Hirotsugu,

Please note that the axis labels for both the LM78M datasheet and the UA78M curve that I provided are the same. The LM78M is the former National Semiconductor version of the UA78M, as such the devices will be similar.

The short circuit current is the far right side of the curve since the maximum Vin for UA78M05 is 25V. If output is shorted to ground and the input is 25V, the differential will be 25V. The curve begins at the minimum differential, when Vin is equal to the minimum operating Vin.
