Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24073,
Hi,
I'm planning on using a single Samsung INR18650 25R Li-ion cell to power a PCB, and I'm going to use a BQ24073 for in-application charging. The cell does not contain integrated over-discharge protection so I would like to use a BQ2970 to stop the cell discharging past 2.8V. (I'm under the impression that I actually don't NEED to use over-discharge protection for this type of cell but want to be extra safe).
Can I simply use the recommended circuit from the BQ2970 datasheet and connect the "PACK+" line (i.e. the cell's +ve terminal) and the "PACK-" line to the BAT and VSS pins respectively of the BQ24073 charging chip? Would there be any issues to consider in doing this?
Many thanks
