I am checking about power classification.
Data sheet The description of "7.4.1.4 Hardware Classification" on page 19 includes the following (red line).
If the PD receives the hardware classification of 2 events, it is supplied with 25.5 W. If 2 events are not received, it starts at 13 W and then supplies 13 W or more by DLL (soft authentication).
It can supply 25.5 W by hardware authentication alone.
I do not think soft authentication is necessary to acquire POE + authentication (conforming to IEEE 802.3at).
But does the PD always need to be able to detect both hard and soft authentication?
