UCC27524: 27524

Part Number: UCC27524

Hello ,we added to our power supply driver type 27524
And we saw on the new batch that the marking on the device show only 524AQ and not as 27524A.
On the data sheet show that this device come with thermal pad, but I'm don't see any thermal pad on the device.
Whether device with marking 524AQ should be come with thermal pad?
What the deference between the device with marking 27524A?Thanks,

Ronen

  • Hi Ronen,

Thank you for your interest in the UCC27524A gate drivers from TI. The UCC27524A (with marking "27524A" in the 8-SOIC package) is a variant of the UCC27524 that adds the ability to handle –5 V directly at the input pins for increased robustness. The parts with the marking "524AQ" are actually UCC27524A-Q1 devices, which are tested and qualified for automotive applications. If you do not require the automotive rating for yoru design, I would recommend the UCC27524A device for better cost (full part number UCC27524AD).

None of these device versions has a thermal pad in the SOIC-8 (D) package, which is what I can tell from the picture is being used in this design. There is a VSSOP-8 with exposed pad (DGN) package option for the UCC27524A (full part number UCC27524ADGN)
