UC2844: PWM output operation during current limit

Part Number: UC2844

UC2844 If the I-sense pin reaches threshold (1V) and output is terminated, does the bottom switch of the totem-pole output turn-on as soon as the top switch turns off or does the bottom switch turn on after the end of the pulse (50%)?

What state is the output is the bottom switch isn't on?

  • Rex,
Thanks for your interest in TI here.

When a fault occurs, regardless of where you are in the pulse, the controller tries to shutoff quickly. This is specified (by design only not production tested) in the current sense section of the datasheet. You can see a typical delay of 150ns with max of 300 for the output to change when you exceed the current sense threshold.
To your other question, output is pulled low in default conditions.
    Regards
    John
