BQ27520-G4: Using Primary Batteries (chemistry = LiSOCl2) with BQ27520-G4

Hi,

We are using BQ27520-G4 for the Li-ion battery gauge.

Now we want to use same hw also with a Li-SOCl2 Lithium primary battery like a Saft LSH20.

Measure result don´t have to be exact but do it works like coulomb counter?

For cost reduction can we also use BQ27520-G4, I2C Bus with 1.8V voltage?

Hi,
For primary gauges,
We recommand to use BQ35100 that special for primary gauge.

Hi,

We don't have room for the BQ35100 on our design.

Comparing a BQ27520 and BQ27320 for Li-Ion and Li-SOCl2 gauge, what is your choice in our case that we can get estimation from both batteries by using spesific settings.

the bq35100. It was made specifically to target lithium primary cells.
