BQ24050: Charge current is not change

Hello Tran,

If you are powering off of a 12V rail your charger could be going into thermal Shutoff.

Would you mind providing Vin, Vout, and Iin waveforms?

I could not capture Iin, Just capture waveform of Vin, D+ bus, Vout &  measure I Charge  by using DMM.

Seem charge IC gets tuck in detection routine, Setting (ISET2) does not affect to output charge current.

Hello Nguyen,

You should not connect your battery directly to 12V. This is extremely dangerous.

Your charger is probably going into Vovp when it senses such a high Vout the battery's internal protection is probably also kicking in.

Hi David,
I do not connect the battery directly to 12V. Please see the attached design. 12V supply for 5V DC/DC Power supply - and 5V output will supply for battery charger circuit.
Please help me verify on this issue - our product is pending for this issue. Thanks.

Hello Tran,

I set your my EVM but was not able to duplicate the problem.

If your D+ pin is pulsing and it's connected to your LDO, it the problem is not in your charger but in either your DC/DC converter or LDO.

Please scope the inputs of the LDO and DC/DC conveter and ensure that you have appropriate values.
