TPS92692: low side current sensing

Hello together,

one of my customers is looking at the TPS92692, but unfortunately the LED array voltage is in the range of 80-100V. The only limitation which we saw are the CSP and CSN pins.

Would it be possible to do a low side current sensing instead?

Hello Felix,

The current sense amplifier common mode range is 0V to 65V, so yes, you can do low side current sense and boost to voltages higher than 65V.

did you made any experience with the low side current sensing? What is the achievable accuracy? Are there any drawbacks with the low side sensing?

Hello Felix,

Accuracy doesn't suffer and the only drawback is that the LED string doesn't connect directly to ground (which is attractive in some applications, particularly in automotive). I'll reply to your e-mail with more detail.
