TPS62097: Layout for feedback resistors

Part Number: TPS62097

Hi,

We are using the TPS62097 in our design.

Kindly clarify the following query.

1) In EVM, I see that FB resistors are connected to the VOS.  Should the feedback resistor be connected to the capacitor or to the vos pin?

2) The power pad Vin & Vout is around 12mils.  For 2A requirement, we think copper thickness might become an issue.

what is the minmum copper thickness required for 2A? Can we use 0.5oz ?

Thanks,

Binupandian S.

  • The top FB resistor should be connected at the point where you want to regulate the DC output voltage.

Each company usually has derating and trace width requirements of their own. I don't see an issue with narrow planes/traces for a very short length (until you get outside the IC). The EVM uses 1 oz copper.
