BQ24170: Using case of 3-cell at figure 25 of datasheet

Hi,

My customer wants to use BQ24170 at 3-cell(Charge voltage is 12.6V).
He thinks the circuit like figure 25 of datasheet at using 15V ac adapter.

Can we use the circuit of figure 25 of datasheet at 3-cell?
Of cause, we think the parameter of circuit need to adjust for 3-cell and 15V input.

    What is the reason for your customer to using figure 25 design rather than typical design in figure 19? Could you please provide more information about your customer's design? Thank you so much.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Customer system need input voltage under 13V.
    But this system has 3-cell battery, which need the poewr supply over 13V for charging.
    I think it is about 15V AC adapter. and To add DCDC on power line will make cost up. 

    For the reason, we need the design like figure 25.

    Thanks for your confirmation. The main point is the system cannot connect to adapter. It could be used in your design but there is still two more concerns on the system connection. First, it could not separate the system current and charging current. Second, if there are a lot of system Caps, a huge inrush current would go through system from battery when battery hot-plug. Please kindly informed the customer to verify the situation, thank you so much!
