Microcontroller selection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL536A, TMS320F2808
Good morning,
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Manel Duran, I’m R&D engineer in Dachs electronics.
I’m contacting you because we would appreciate if you could recommend some of yours microcontrollers for the following application.
We are developing our BMS hardware and software.
Now we are using the bq76pl536a chip from Texas Instrument to manage all the voltage and temperature measurements as well as the balancing procedures and the alarms management. We are looking for a microcontroller able to communicated by SPI with three of this chips and manage them.
This microcontroller must have minimum two CAN network. Additionally we would like to have between 5 to 10 analogic inputs with minimum 12 bits ADC's.
Regards,
  • Hi Manel,

I might recommend taking a look at the TMS320F2808 device.  This should meet your needs relatively directly and have a solid ADC (both fast and precise).

If you feel you could share some of the SPI interfaces, something from the F28004x family may also be worth investigating (has 2 SPI).

    Hopefully this helps!

    Thank you,
    Brett
