IC _selection help needed for BMS

Dear TI Team,

I am working on building a battery management system. I am very much interested on getting your IC's for this purpose.

I have the following requirement; it should have Voltage measurement, current measurement, Temperature measurement a passive balancing option included in the chip.

Can someone advise me which is the ideal chip? It would be great if i can get the reference design and compatible microcontroller for the chip.

Hello Pratik,

I am working on your other post... please try not to spam the forum with repeat questions in 1 day.

The correct device will depend on your pack size. For almost all of our monitors, I think a separate current sense solution is needed, then the output of an INA can be reported to the microcontroller ADC.

I am most familiar with the TMS570 family, although the C2000 works well in this application as well

Hi Pratik,

depending on the cell technology and stack (cells) voltage to be monitored, Monitors and protection can be offered from TI's bq769x0 family. This will work with the TI's companion IC-bq78350-R1 or with uC.
