Hello team,

I am supporting an application where where a dependence has been found on the two coil alignment and the magnitude of the comm traffic "ripple", it was found that the ripple minimizes to near zero well off alignment center.  I think a preferred state.

1.  What affects the magnitude of the comm ripple? (have typically seen 1 Vp-p centered).

Also, when bq51025 is paired with the TI charger bq24104, the pair have a startup oscillation so the QI output is turning on and then turning off repeatedly.

2. Does TI have a full App Note or Reference Design demonstrating a 1 Cell Lithium-Ion QI charger?

  • The bq51025 RX will have comm noise on the output, see data sheet Figure 18 and 19. Best solution would be to increase the output voltage of bq51025, prevent 51025 output from dipping below 24104 output.

    I have tested the bq51025 paired with the bq24104 in the lab and did not see any startup oscillation.
