I have the following circuit.
According to the datasheet this configuration should set I-LIM to 500 mA (EN1=1 EN2=0) and set I-SET to 100 mA (890/8900 = 0.1A). And it charges the battery when charger is connected (USB from computer port). If I remove the USB then the battery discharges normally and everything works fine. The problem starts when I disconnect the battery and connect the USB. The circuit draws about 1A.
1. Why is the BQ24075 draws so much current when the battery is disconnected? (the 2 BAT pins are floating).
2. The PGOOD and CHG LEDs never turn on (on any case described above)
3. Is the I-LIM resistor necessary if (EN1=1 EN2=0) ?
