the meanings of CML:"Other Comms Fault" in FUSION Digital Power Designer's Monitor UI

Dir Sir/Madam

Could you tell me the meanings of CML:"Other Comms Fault" in FUSION Digital Power Designer's Monitor UI ?

What can be the reason of this error message?

Regards,

  • The PMBus spec lists some possible cases that could be flagged with this bit.  What it means in practice depends on the device/program. Different programs in UCD3xxx devices check and flag different communication faults (or none, in some cases).  I don't know what specific things the UCD9xxx devices check for this bit.

If you look at the PMBus 1.3 Spec, it mentions several spots where this bit can be set:

10.8.2 - Sending Too Few Bits

10.8.3 - Reading Too Few Bits

10.8.4 - Host Send Or Reads Too Few Bytes

10.8.6 - Reading Too Many Bytes

10.9.1. Improperly Set Read Bit In The Address Byte

    Which device/program are you using?

  • Ummm, Thank you, it seems to be communication error between HOST and UCD9xxx.
There is another PMBus HOST, it should not submit any command, but I'll check...
    I'm using FUSION 7.0.11.
