TPS24751: Valid for use instead of vehicle fuse?

Part Number: TPS24751

Hello E2E Community,

we are developing a power distribution unit for special measurement vehicles. My question is: Is it permissible - with focus on safety - to use the eFuse TPS24751 instead of the conventional vehicle fuse. So, can we use the eFuse to protect cables from overcurrent?

Thank You for help!

Best Regards

Ralf

  • Hi Ralf,

    Thanks for reaching out!
TPS24751 can be used for overcurrent protection unless the safety requirement demands for physical isolation of the power distribution path. Conventional vehicle fuse or electromechanical circuit breaker provides physical isolation.
