TPS55340: requirement under SEPIC configuration

Hi Team,

My customer wants to design under the following requirement with TPS55340 (SEPIC configuration).
------------------------------------------
Vin: 4.2～21V
Vout: 5V
Iout: 1A (MAX)
* using inductor that is less than 10uH is required
------------------------------------------
Is it possible to get recommended SEPIC schametic that meets the requirement?

I believe it is possible to meet the requirement with another buck-boost device but my customer strongly wants to use TPS55340 because it was already registerd in his company.
Your support would be appreciated.

Hi Yaita,

The TPS53340 should work for this application. Currently there is not a reference design that meets these exact applications specifications but there are multiple tools to help design for this. Here is a good app note about using the TPS55340 as a SEPIC. The TPS55340 SEPIC EVM is also a good starting point. Also there is an excel tool to help calculate out all the needed component values.
