BQ34Z100EVM: bqstudio: Unable to get acknowledgement from Device

Part Number: BQ34Z100EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi,

I am using bq34z100evm and ev2300 for getting SOC, SOH values. Connections are made as per bq34z100evm userguide

Latest firmware of bqstudio 1.3.54 has been downloaded. Problems faced from begining:

1. When I open bqstudio, window saying "device is not compatible with this software. Continue on your own risk" comes.

2. Later when i go ahead with it, I get SOC as 0%. Current measurement is accurate.

3. When I go to Data Memory in bqstudio, I am unable to modify any parameters.

4. When I go to Chemistry in bqstudio, I am unable to Update my desired Chem ID (2046).

5. Later i thought of importing the bq34z100g1 firmware bundle from TI (.srec file). It gets downloaded but unable to Execute firmware. It pops out like (there is no acknowledgement from Device)

Please anyone help me out. I am stuck here for many days.

Thanks

Ritul Shah

    • Hi
    • Could you kindly share about your exact configuration of your EVM? For example, how many cells of batteries you are using and the connection of J1,J2, J3, J5 and J6.?
    • Problem 2, 3, 4 and 5 comes from problem 1. So the most important thing is to solve problem one.

  • Hi Terry,

    Thanks for your reply.

I am using 6 Li ion cells in series. The EVM is bq34z100evm.
    J1 : Jumper is there
    J2 : Jumper on 16V
    J3 : Jumper on A
    J4 : OPEN
    J5 : 2 jumpers on >5 Volt
    J6 : Jumper on EXT
    J7 : wire connected with EV2300

    Waiting for your response.
