TPS63060: External soft-start

Our customer are considering about external softstart. I refereed the following a document and post. Then I suggested adding the external softstart circuit to our customer.

Regarding discharging, they do not want to add the discharge resistor because of output accuracy. And they added a diode to between C5( SS circuit cap) and ground.(see the following)

What do you think the above configuration should work?

Thanks for posting. I forgot to mention that the TPS63070 is a newer, better version of the TPS63060 with a wider Vin range, higher efficiency, more features, higher output current, smaller size, etc. Please use it for new designs.

Your SS circuit could work. Be sure and test it to make sure the performance is acceptable. A low leakage diode should also be used for D2, since any leakage from FB to GND creates a high-pass filter with C5. Thus, any noise or ripple couples into FB through D1.

The effect on the output voltage of R3/D1 can be reduced by choosing smaller resistor values fr R1/R2.
