BQ78350: BQ78350 and BQ76930 host isolation

Hi all

My company is designing a new BMS solution with the BQ78350 and BQ76930/40 chipset. Some people is suggesting to add an isolation circuit to separate the host circuit (micocontroller) impedance from the BQ78350 SMBus port impedance, the schematic is shown bellow:

I have been checking the BQ76930 EVM circuit and no isolation circuit is implemented:

1. Is this configuration designed to work only with the EV2300 or any other TI programmer?

2. Is it possible to remove the isolation circuit and connect the BQ78350 SMBus port directly to any other host (microcontroller) without impedance issues even if the DSG and/or CHG Mosfet are/is disabled?

3. If negative, Do you thing that there will be a leakage current issue due to the isolation circuit implementation?
