TINA/Spice/BQ76PL455A-Q1: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello,

I am a beginner for BMS developement. I'm using bq76PL455A-Q1 for monitoring 8 cell battery with FRDMK64F controller.

I want to start designing the PCB and in the software requirement ,I find Tina-TI software.I just want to know that Can I do all the PCB design with this software and ,is there any developed simulation for bq76PL455A-Q1  chip that I can use in my PCB design or I need to simulate it myself?

Moreover ,I would like to know Is QT Creator ,the software which I can do teh configuraion of chip with?

kind regards

elham

  • Hi Elham,

TINA-TI is for simulation, similar to SPICE programs. To my knowledge, you will need a program such as EAGLE, K-CAD, Altium, or Ultiboard to do the layout. TINA-TI will likely have the schematic capture, but i do not know if it can export nets to a PCB layout suite.

Simulation for a device such as the pl455 is challanging, since it is so complicated (it is much more complicated than a typical passive or opamp circuit that is typically simulated in SPICE). While technically possible, a SPICE model is not something we have invested in.

I am unfamiliar with QT creator, but it looks like that is a run of the mill IDE used for compiling firmware. I think it will be okay, as long as it is compatible with your microcontroller. It is the UART from the MCU that configures the pl455.
