BQ34Z100EVM: No acknowledge from device

Hi,

I am using bq34z100evm and ev2300 for battery fuel gauging.

When i connect this EVM, EV2300 with the PC and run bqstudio, i get following attached window.

What can be the problem and how to solve it?

Please help me out.

Have you connnected a battery or a power supply to the EVM? What is the voltage of the battery?
Also please make sure the jumpers on the EVM are connected correctly.

Hi Terry,

I have connected the EVM in following way. 6 LI ION CELLS in series. jumper config are as follows:
J1= CONNECTED
J2= 32v
J3= C
J4= OPEN
J5= >5V, >5V
J6= EXT
J7= CONNECTED WITH EV2300 through cable

PC<<USB cable<<EV2300<<4 wire cable (I2C)<<EVM

Please assist further.

You can try to disconnected J1 and leave J3 open and see if it works.

Still it does not work with above changes.
Is it possible that EVm or EV2300 not working?
How to test its working?

Trying checking to see if your REG25 pin is 2.5V.
Also try to "Run as Administrator" when running the setup for bqstudios on Windows 7.

If nothing works, then there could be some firmware issue with the EV2300, maybe needs a firmware update, I'd recommend using
the EV2400.
