TPS62160: Thermal Pad and GND pin

I don't understand the question. They must all be tied together on the PCB, right under the IC. So, it does not matter if they are tied together internally or not.

I am sorry for lack of explanation.

Our customers are planning to use an inverting circuit as shown in the Data  sheet in Figure 41.

They connect the GND pin (AGND pin and PGND pin) to -5 V and connect the thermal pad to GND on the board.

And the customers has checked the operation in the state.

In this case, is there a problem with connection between GND and thermal pad?

Yes, they should connect the thermal pad to the same potential as the AGND/PGND pins.

Hi Chris-san,

If the thermal pad and AGND/PGND pins are connected inside the device, I think that a short circuit will occur in the customer's circuit.
Is there a ploblem with connecting AGND/PGND pins to -5 V and connecting the thermal pad to GND on the board?
