TPS53355: Generating 1V from 12V input

Hi,

I am planning to use TPS53355 regulator for generating variable core smart reflex voltage for a keystone II device.

Core needs a current 28A max.

Core voltage range: 0.8V to 1.1V

DAC used : LM10011.

Input voltage: 12V.

When I tried to open this regulator in WEBENCH, it gave the error: For these design inputs, the switching frequency of operation will be lower than the minimum supported by this device.

So please let me know whether i can use this device. If not, please suggest me any other device, best suited for my requirement.

I use the WEBENCH to design this IC, it works well. I think you can try again.

First, set the value of Vin, Vout, Iout as below.Then click the "Start Design", Choose "compare all parts types", then choose the TPS53355. It will shows what you want.

I am getting the error only if i change the ambient to 70C. May I know why am i getting the this error for this temperature?

When you work in 70C(environment), the temperature of the part may be more than 150C with the EVM's layout, so the Webench can't provide the reference design.
So if you want to decrease the temp, the Webench will suggest to decrease the switch frequency , but this part can't work below 250KHz .
Or you can add fan to cool down the IC
You can see the Figure 32 in the datasheet for this part in your ambient temp. Thank you!
