Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO
I am working with a new battery design using the bq40z50-r1. I have several boards that I can get to enter what appears to be a reset loop. This is evident by the FETs turning off at about a 1s rate and communications through bqStudio being interrupted. The values of fields that are able to come through in bqStudio indicate a reset of the firmware.
witht he production version of the .srec loaded, the reset loop stops if a load is applied to the pack. The reset loop recommences if a reset command is sent after the load is removed.
I loaded on the default .srec provided on the product page to remove that as a possibility. I have also grounded PRES through a 1k resistor.
The schematic is very similar to the suggested application schematic (4s LiFePO4). I have checked power rails and those look solid.
Any other thoughts?
