LM3478: Peak driver output current

Hi,

We got a question from customer about LM3478.
Could you help us?

They are considering to use LM3478 with high Qg FET. So they need 2.5A peak driver output current for 1us, but rating is 1A for less than 10us.
They would like to make sure whether the driver output current can flow 2.5A for 1us.

    As you can see in the datasheet that the driver FET Rds(on) is 16 Ohm typical for souring current, and 4.5 Ohm typical for sinking, the driver is not able to provide the peak current that you need. Let us know that is Qg and we can assess if the LM3478 is able to drive the FET efficiently. Also tell us the intended switching frequency.
