TPS54202H: Divider

Part Number: TPS54202H

Hi,

It is suggested to start with 100 kΩ for the value of the upper resistor of the FB divider.
Disregarding efficiency and values that are obviously too low, is there any reason why the value can't be below 100 kΩ?
For instance, a divider made with a 2.49 kΩ and a 332 Ω resistor should set the output voltage to 5 V.
This would result with about 1.8 mA and 9 mW lost trough the resistors.

Thanks,

Richard

  • Hi Richard,

Of course you could decrease the upper risistance properly. But please note the description of 8.2.3.5.3 Feed-Forward Capacitor, on page 17. Someone want to boost the phase margin at crossover frequency, the lower upper resistance, the higher CFF capacitance, too high CFF capacitance makes some side affect to the  system. So starts with a 100kΩ resistor is recommended.
