TPS65218: Power up without push button & DCDC5/6 power up

Hi Team,

In AM437x starter kit, push-button from TPS65218 is used to start power-up sequence.

1. If PB is not used, we need TPS65218 to power up with VBAT/IN, not other operation required. What power-up condition should we use, should we pull PWR_EN to IN_BU?

2. From TPS65218 datasheet page 25, Figure 11 shows that DCDC5/DCDC6 power sequence is according to PB falling edge. If PB is not used, whther PWR_EN can be used to start DCDC5/DCDC6?

Zhou,

when you are in off or suspend state, you can start sequencing either with PB is press or Power enable. so Both cases you can use PWR_EN to start sequencing.

How about DCDC5/DCDC6? Does PWR_EN control the sequence for them? FIGURE 11 only show the control from PB, PWR_EN is later than DCDC5/DCDC6.

Zhou,

Yes DCDC5/DCDC6 will now start the sequence when power enable signal is high similar to other DCDC rails.
