WEBENCH® Tools/LMR62421: Some Questions about the LMR62421 and WEBENCH

Part Number: LMR62421

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

The data sheet shows the enable pin pulled up to the input rail through a resistor. I could not find much information on what value resistor to use. Several different values are shown in the data sheet so it doesn't appear to be very critical. But Web Bench came up with 10.2K. This seemed odd to me that what appears to be a non critical resistor would recommend 10.2K. Is there any reason I can't just use anything on my BOM between 10K and 100K?

Also, why does Web Bench specify an 0805 for the bottom resistor in the Voltage feedback network. Why can't I use an 0402? It is only 1.26 Volts through 10K or 159 uW, Why do I need an 0805?

  • We need to check with the original writer of the datasheet to clarify this. According to the datasheet, it is obvious that the two issues are not critical because these resistor selections would not affect the circuit's functionality. On the other hand, Webench allows users to replace the components as they wish in optimizing a design by users's own judgment.
